Feasibility study for thermal power project in Naypyidaw started by Russia

The Russian Company, #Rosatom started survey and feasibility study on December 9 on earthquakes and environmental conditions in Naypyidaw to begin the #Thermal_Power_Project, according to the State Administration Council.
The studies were conducted on the land located near #Paunglaung_Dam situation in Zee Yaine village, Thit Taw village, Ngar Thae Su village in Zeya Thiri Township, Naypyidaw, according to the SAC statement.
The environmental conditions related to the Thermal Power Project, Mechanic stones, water source, earthquakes and faults, transportation routes, weather conditions and socio life were surveyed.
In addition, water capacity of Paunglaung dam; dam’s conditions including effectiveness of choosing lands were also studied.
The contract “Road Map on Cooperation in the field of the use of Nuclear Energy for Peaceful Purposes for 2022-2023” was signed by the Ministry of Electricity and Energy and the Russian company ROSATOM.
The MoU on Myanmar-Russia Small Modular Reactor (SMR) Projects was signed on 22 December.
The SAC stated that the agreement of Nuclear Power Plant Project was also singed between Myanmar and Russia and it is expected to start soon.
