The Chairman of the Union Election Commission (#UEC) Thein Soe said that the voters shall be named in the voter lists only if they have the household registration form (66/6) at the relevant constituency.

He mentioned it during his speech delivered at the opening ceremony of training for managing township level voter lists on January 11 in Naypyidaw.

The voters shall be the holders of the citizens, guest citizens and the naturalized citizens; and the household registration form must also be accurate, the UEC said.

At present, the Ministry of Immigration and Population is working with the General Administration Department to collect the on-ground population figures by door-to-door survey teams and is working nationwide to obtain the correct population registration.

The Union Election Commission has promised to convene the election nationwide under Proportional Representation (PR) system.
