Commander-in-Chief of the Defense Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing said “The #peace_process is a part of the politics but it isn’t a political tool.”

He addressed it in his message delivered for the 71st anniversary of Kayah State Day which falls on 15th January.

Achieving peace is difficult in those countries where recurring conflicts are existing. Therefore, only through genuine desire for peace and willingness to participate in constructive negotiations from all the stakeholders can peace be achieved, he said.

“Although peace process is a part of politics, it is not a tool or catalyst to achieve political aim. State building and national interest must be prioritized in constructing future nation”, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing said.

“It is unexceptionally accepted that Myanmar politics is labyrinthine and there are still many factors to be discussed and negotiated for the peace of Myanmar,” as mentioned in the speech.

The Commander-in-Chief also urged all to be involved in building the Union with mutual respect, understanding and trust.
