Four State/Region Chief Ministers retired; regional-level government body reshuffled

The State Administration Council announced regional-level government members reshuffle this evening on February 1, in which, four State and Region Chief Ministers were listed retired.

The restructuring is made as per Section 419 of the Constitution.

Mon State Chief Minister Zaw Lin Tun was announced to retire. Instead, Minister for Resources Aung Kyi Thein becomes the newly appointed Mon State Chief Minister.

Then, it is announced that Myo Aung as the Chief Minister of Mandalay Region; Htein Lin as the Chief Minister of Rakhine State; and Aung Zaw Aye as the Chief Minister of Shan State.

Former Chief Minister of Mandalay Region Maung Ko and former Chief Minister of Rakhine State Dr. Aung Kyaw Min were appointed as members of the State Administration Council.

In addition, three members of the Union Election Commission and one member from the Anti-Corruption Commission were announced retired.

The new Chairman of the Union Civil Service Board is announced Sit Aye while the new Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Commission is announced Dr. Htay Aung.
