As per information, the Rakhine ethnic political party which also has its own armed wing: the #Arakan_Liberation_Party/ Arakan Liberation Army (ALP/ALA) has been re-organized and chaired by Saw Mar Raza Lin after the party has been split into two groups.

The newly reorganized ALP/ALA announced the new structure of the party’s central committee on March 19.

The ALP signed Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA) in 2015. Since then, different ideologies have been emerged within the party. Then, in 2021, differences were obvious and the party split into two forms, the Central Committee led by Saw Mra Raza Lin said.

In January 2022, ALP’s political steering team was established. Since then, the ALP moved forward as per the NCA course for the peace. However, there were disagreements between khaing Ye Khaing and Saw Mra Raza Lin within the party.

The newly reorganized ALP excludes those members and leaders who have been failing serve for the party for more than six months; disloyal to the party; and tried to disintegrate the party. In addition, Saw Mra Raza Lin chairs the new ALP with advisory members Khaing Min Aung and Tin Aung.

The Arakan Liberation Party's armed wing will also be reformed and upgraded in the near future, the central committee said.

The committee stated that the Central Committee won’t take responsibility for any action which violates the NCA course under the name of ALP/ALA.
