Chongqing entrepreneurs show readiness to invest in Myanmar’s EV sector

According to the introductory seminar of China (Chongqing region/Bishan District) – Myanmar Business Cooperation that was held on March 22 at Lotte Hotel in Yangon, Chinese investors from Chongqing are conducting processes for import or manufacturing electric vehicles in Myanmar.
In addition, Yangon-Chongqing direct flight is expected to operate soon.
The Chongqing governmental officials and entrepreneurs visited Yangon for five days to promote bilateral trade relationship especially in tourism, electric vehicles, production and cultural exchange.
Deputy District Mayor of People’s Government of Bishan District, Chongqing, Mr. Zhang Chuan, said at the closing grand dinner that “Although this time trip is lasted only few days, we’ve learnt many things in Myanmar during this trip. We’ve noticed and really appreciate that Myanmar people are really nice and welcome to us. You are also invited to visit Chongqing in the upcoming September.”
President of the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry Aye Win said, “They are interested to cooperate in the new energy vehicle sector; operating direct flight between Chongqing and Myanmar; tourism sector; electric vehicle sector; import; industrial production; and healthcare.”
A Tourism Group company from Chongqing signed memorandum of understanding with a local tourism company to cooperate in promoting Myanmar tourism industry during their five-day trip.
