52 political parties, including 26 ethnic's, submit for party registrations despite of conflicts

There have been 52 political parties i totla asbof March 25, including 26 ethnic political parties, that have registered at the Union Election Commission (UEC) to run for the election although the country's political and security atmospheres are stll unrest.

According to the Political Parties Registration Law, the last date for the political parties to apply for registration is March 28.

The UEC announced that there has been a total of 52 political parties that have registered at the UEC. Amongst, 26 are the ethnic parties which will be representing both regional and Union level in the upcoming election.

The following ethnic parties submitted for renewing registration: Phalon-Sawaw Democratic Party (PSDP), New Democracy Party (Kachin), Shan and Ethnics Democratic party, Pa-O National Organization, Arakan Front Party (AFP), Kachin State People’s Party, Lisu National Development Party (LNDP) and Tai-Leng National Development Party.

In addition, Shan-ni Solidarity Party (SSP), Kha Mee National Development Party , Rakhin State National United Party (RSNUP), Mon Unity Party, Akha National Development Party (ANDP), Kachin National Congress for Democracy (KNCD), Arakan National Party (ANP), Inn National Chief Party, Kokang Democracy and Unity Party (KDUP), Kayin National Democratic Party (KNDP), Shan State Kokang Democratic Party (SSKDP), Naga National Party (NNP), Wa National Party, Danu National Organization Party (DANU), Women Party (Mon), Myo National Party (MNP), Zomi Congress for Democracy (ZCD) and Danu National Democracy Party are also included.
