NSPNC, 3 allied EAOs talk on cooperation and trust building

The National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee (NSPNC) and three allied ethnic armed groups took place discussion for peace formulation and trust building, according to statement released by the State Administration Council (SAC).

The delegation led by Lt-Gen Yar Pyae, the Chairman of NSPNC and the delegates from three EAOs including MNDAA, TNLA and AA met in Mongla, Eastern Shan State on 1st June.

From the SAC side, the Committee Secretary Lt-Gen Win Bo Shein, committee member Lt-Gen Khin Zaw Oo (retired), Deputy Commander of the Triangle Region Command Brig-Gen Tun Myat Shwe, and departmental officials attended the meeting together with the NSPNC Chairman Lt-Gen Yar Pyae, as per the statement.

From the EAOs side, representatives from the Myanmar National Truth and Justice Party/ Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNTJP/MNDAA), the Palaung State Liberation Front/ Ta’ang National Liberation Army (PSLF/TNLA) and the United League of Arakan/ Arakan Army (ULA/AA) attended the meeting, as per information.

Topics related to consolidation of the multi-party democratic system, building the Union based on democracy and federalism, implementing peaceful and developed Union, and building trust with the ethnic armed organizations were highlighted during the meeting by the stakeholders, according to the statement.

In addition, the NSPNC and three allied EAOs discussed on the matters related to the release of detainees, to annul those EAOs’ statuses of being unlawful association, and to provide in time humanitarian assistance to the Mocha affected victims as soon as possible.

The meeting continued on 2nd June, as per information.

According to the reports, the ongoing peace talk has been facilitated and mediated by China.
