Myanmar tries to get registration in UNESCO for Mt. Poppa area

Union Minister for the Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation, Khin Maung Yee, urged to discover new geographic lands in Poppa areas to be registered in UNESCO

He addressed it during the meeting held on 18th July at Forestry Department in Naypyidaw.

The minuster also said that the relevant departments are carrying out to preserve the heritages and natural resources with systematic management tools.

What is more, relevant departments are formulating 15 geographic lands as the initial projects to regard the Poppa area as the geology garden.

There are ancient heritages, workshops and fossiles in Mt. Poppa area and therefore, the minister said, the area should be tried to get UNESCO registration.
