Myanmar, China discuss express train network to Ruili

Relevant officers from Myanmar and China discussed connecting the express train network to China’s Ruili which is projected to finish in 2027, according to the statement released by the State Administration Council (SAC).

As per the statement, the Union Minister for the Ministry of Transport and Communication, as well as the Deputy Prime Minister, Tin Aung San, met with Mr. Wei Gang, the Governor of the People’s Government of Dehong Autonomous Prefecture of the People’s Republic of China on 26th July at the ministry in Naypyidaw.

China's high-speed railway network construction to Ruili is expected to finish in 2027. The two parties discussed connecting the railway system in Myanmar with it so as to promote bilateral trade.

In addition, the SAC statement said that the two delegations also discussed weekly direct flights between Mangshi, the capital of Dehong Province, and Mandalay by Ruili Airline.

What is more, it is also discussed in the meeting that the Myanmar National Airlines will be operating three times a week between Yangon-Mandalay-Mangshi-Mandalay-Yangon and to expand the flight routes with other potential cities.

Both parties also discussed signing MoU for good transnational trade and to transport Chinese manufacturing products from Yangon Port.
