Pathein Air Port to be upgraded at international level

The chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC) informed that the Pathein Air Port will be upgraded to host for landing international flights.
The SAC Chairman addressed the information at the meeting on regional development with the residents held at the office of the regional government on August 10.
In addition, the Pathein-Yangon express way will be upgraded depending on the daily traffic with the international standards as many vehicles are passing through.
As a matter of fact, Ayeyarwaddy Region has many natural resources, local foods and other resources that will attract as the tourism destination.
Therefore, the SAC Chairman urged the relevant authorities to improve social living and traffic rules in Pathein.
The chairman of SAC, informed in April that the airport in Rakhine State, which receives a large number of domestic and foreign tourists, should be upgraded to host landing jet planes.
Similarly, Sittwe Airport will also be expanded the runway that will be able to land A-320 and B-737 aircraft.
