The National Solidarity and Peace Negotiation Committee (NSPNC) led by Lt. Gen. Yar Pyae informed and negotiated with the NCA signatory EAOs to hold another talks on peace on August 16.

“It’s been too long that the NSPNC and the EAOs haven’t met in Naypyidaw. Therefore, the NSPNC made a request to meet for peace talk,” Col. Saw Kyaw Nyunt from KNU/KNLA-PC told NP News.

The NSPNC met with ALP, DKBA, KNU/KNLA-PC, LDU and PNLO in Naypyidaw in late June 2023 for peace.

Therefore, the NSPNC and the EAOs are potentially meeting in late August for peace talks, according to the Col. Saw Kyaw Nyunt continuing that the upcoming meetings are likely involved discussing a peace conference.

“The previous talks agreed to hold a peace conference as a bilateral common consensus. However, we couldn’t hold talks later it. Now it’s been very long we haven’t met and discussed peace. Therefore, I hope we will be discussing the peace conference in the upcoming talk,” he continued.

Among ten NCA signatory groups, KNU, CNF and ABSDF do not involve in discussing peace talk with the State Administration Council; in addition, those three groups are exchanging fire with the military.

On the other hand, UWSA, NDAA and SSPP that are the non-NCA signatory groups involve discussing with the SAC for peace.
