Health Ministry alerts unsafe traditional drugs selling online

The Department of Traditional Medicine of the Ministry of Health issued a warning statement on August 16 that some drugs titled as traditional medicines that are sold online aren’t safe for health, maybe harm, since those drugs do not have licenses of manufacturing traditional medicines.
The ministry notified that those unlicensed traditional drugs selling online, mostly Facebook, aren’t guaranteed for safety, quality and accuracy from the pharmaceutical point of view.
The ministry stated that the State is promoting research and manufacturing of the traditional medicines at the time being; and trying to transfer the traditional medicine industry to Evidence-based medicine (EBM) from experience-based, according to Dr. Aye Tun, the Deputy Minister of the MOH.
