
He made the speech at the ceremony of the “International Tourism Alliance of Silk Road Cities” that was held in Jinjiang City in China on 1st September.
The mayor remarked that the tourism alliance of the Silk Road Cities has many potentialities for promoting global economy and therefore, he urged to enhance collaboration among each other for sustainable development.
Mayor Than Tun Oo mentioned four distinct tour destinations of Myanmar including Bagan UNESCO heritage site, Inle Lake, Naypyidaw Gem Hall and the world tallest seated Maravijaya Buddha Image Park.
The International Tourism Alliance of Silk Road Cities was established with 36 capitals from 25 countries in Asia, Europe, Africa, and America, including Naypyidaw and 22 capitals from China, with a total of 58 member capitals.
He also added to create job opportunities and promoting socio-economic status of the citizens via promoting tourism industry. Myanmar and China share numerous areas of collaboration not only the tourism industry.
