MIC recently grants greenlight on six investments

The Myanmar Investment Commission (MIC) recently granted a greenlight for six projects, with nearly 73 million USD investments, that are expected to provide more than 2,600 job opportunities locally.

The approval was made by the MIC’s 3/2023 meeting on 2nd October in Naypyidaw.

Addition to increasing the capital investment of eight ongoing projects, the meeting also granted greenlights for six new investments in electricity, industrial, hotels and tourism, and renewable energy sectors.

As of end of August 2023, Myanmar receives investments from a total of 52 countries. Amongst, Singapore, China and Thailand are the biggest investors.

The investments were made 28.45 percent in electricity sector; 24.46 percent in oil and gas sector; and 14.38 percent in industrial sector, as per information.
