Buddhist monk abducted and slain in Myanmar; death toll reaches nearly 90

Myanmar Police Force released the news that a presiding Buddhist monk in Inndaw township was abducted by PDF terrorists and the monk was found dead with his decayed body after five days of abduction. Now the number of assassinated Buddhist monks in Myanmar has been nearly 90 in number.

This extrajudicial assassination took place in Inndaw township in Sagaing Region on 1st October.

According to the Police Force, the presiding monk, namely U Nyar Ni Ka aged 53, was abducted by KIA-PDF affiliated terrorists on 26th September.

On 1st October, his body was found in decay with two knife wounds in his abdomen on the roadside of Shwebo- Myitkyina Highway near Pin Nge village.

The similar assassination took place at the Kyay War Monastery in Min Kyain Village in Htantabin Township, Bago Region on 24th September. On that day, the presiding monk U Wai Pon La was also abducted by KNU-PDF terrorists and shot dead.

On 3rd August, another presiding Buddhist monk U Vi Seikta from Htee Lin Township Magway Region was shot dead by the PDF terrorists.

On 9th August, a presiding monk, again, namely U San Ni Mar from Aung Mingalar Monastery in Mattaya Township, Mandalay Region was also killed by knives shot by PDF terrorists.

The security forces are conducting necessary investigations to be able to take action on those terrorists who cruelly slaughtered altogether 88 Sanghas (Buddhist monks) and one nun.
