16 electrical staffs abducted by PDF terrorists in Kanbalu released

The electrical staffs who were abducted by PDF terrorists in Kanbalu Township, Sagaing Region in recent days have been reportedly released now.

They were captured by the PDF terrorists when going to repair the transformers which were exploded by mines at Thaphanseik Dam and Hydropower Plant located in Kanbalu Township.

A Kanbalu resident told NP News that the 16 electrical staffs arrested by terrorists were released on January 7.

“They were released yesterday evening. As far as I heard, they were arrested due to the electricity shortage. The Kokkokone village where the terrorists live near the Thaphanseik was cut off light. They have to sign promising to transmit electricity. Now all of them were released,” a Kanbalu resident told NP News.

At the time being, towns and villages that are delivered power by the Thaphanseik Hydropower are encountering power outage.

In the country, there have been incidents of terrorists sabotaging the electricity towers and other infrastructures which led the country's budgets damaged.
