Hsu/ Pearl (NP News) – Jan 10

The founder of the Yaynanthar Dingar Trees Growing Group announced that the test growth of Gold Mohur flowers and Blue Jacarandas is set to conduct on the Mount Popa, where trees are scarcely growing.

Although attempts were made to grow trees on both sides of the Mount Popa, its rocky soil and high winds prevented them from taking root.

Hence, this coming June, they plan to experiment with new planting methods by incorporating seeds directly into fertilizer bags.

A representative from the organization stated to NP News that, 'This year, we will not carry the trees to the mountain. Instead, we will bring the seeds and fertilizer bags to the mountain. The large fertilizer bags will be divided into smaller ones, and then we will cultivate the land at the summit of the mountain.'

For this plantation project, the primary focus will be on Gold Mohur flowers and Blue Jacarandas. The seed casting method was successful in the middle of the Thraka mountain range. However, at the top of the mountain, the plants faced a more significant challenge in their growth.

"We plan to plant Gold Mohur flowers and Blue Jacaranda primarily. If the summit planting is successful, the seeds will disperse and pollinate naturally with the wind. A successful plantation at the summit will contribute to the natural beauty of the lower land through these pollination processes."

It's been reported that between 2019 and 2022, within three years, nearly 5,000 trees were planted on the Mount Popa, with over 70,000 seeds sown.
