Authorities expect to release census preliminary report in Dec 2024

The Ministry of Immigration and Population reported that the census preliminary result is expected to announce in December 2024 after taking the National Census in October.
The Union Minister U Myint Kyaing highlighted it during the coordination meeting that was held on 21 February in Naypyidaw.
The ministry has already transferred the statistic of the population above age 18 to the Union Election Commission for the first time as per the permission of the State Administration Council. The data were prepared by the ministry based on the e-ID database system.
The Union Minister also stated that processes are underway in accordance with the project plans to take the National Census in October 2024 and will make effort to release the preliminary population statistics in December.
An accurate true population census will be compiled based on the National Census that will be taken in the upcoming October and the on-ground population figures, the ministry said.
