State media seek cooperation with private owned outlets for timely information

The Union Minister for Information said that State-owned media under the Ministry of Information is collaborating in required aspects with the private owned outlets, private FM radio stations and media partners for spreading news speedy and in timely manners.
Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn said it in his interview with the Centre for Public and Business Cooperation with the Republic of the Union of Myanmar at the sideline of the BRICS Media Summit in Moscow, Russia.
The Union Minister said, “The MRTV (Myanmar Radio and Television) and IPRD (Information and Public Relations Department) are transmitting television channels, radio and online platforms. There are media partners, private news media and private FM radios. We are making sure to have speedy and timely information flow cooperating with them.”
U Maung Maung Ohn also highlighted the press freedom and responsibility of the media. He said, “We also guarantee the press freedom. In the past, news were allowed to release only after censorship. There are news media law and things are carried out in accordance with the law.”
The minister also said that Myanmar-Russia friendship will be promoted by making TV series as cultural exchange.
