U Khin Maung Oo, a member of the Union Election Commission (UEC), said that political parties that were rejected for not meeting the required number of party members and party offices do not have the right to appeal.
This was stated at a press conference held at the UEC office in Naypyidaw on September 11.
According to U Khin Maung Oo, if the parties that were disqualified are given a liberal treatment, it will not be fair to other parties that have met the requirements.
In addition, regarding the deregistration of four political parties, it was stated that all records and related information are kept at the UEC, and that political parties may request and review those records.
The UEC has announced on September 9 that the National Democratic Force Party (NDF), Democratic Party of National Politics (DNP), Women's Party (Mon), and Union Farmer-Labour Force Party had been deregistered and dissolved due to insufficient party membership and party offices.
The UEC issued a statement with the Notification No. (95/2025) cancelling the registration of the four political parties and dissolving them.
The UEC has announced in its Notification No. (56/2025) dated August 20, 2025, that political parties must meet the minimum membership and party office requirements specified in Section 5, Sub-sections (f) and (h) of the Political Parties Registration Law and that the last date for submitting the information to the Commission has been set as September 7, 2025.
According to the UEC, Phase 1 of the election will be held on December 28, and the time gap between phases will be only one or two weeks.
