According to a statement from the State Security and Peace Commission, 110 buildings connected to online scam operations in the KK Park area of Myawaddy Township, Kayin State, have been demolished, and the remaining 525 buildings will continue to be demolished.
The 148 buildings located in Zone (A) of the KK Park area will all be demolished to ensure the complete cessation of online scam operations, online gambling, and other criminal activities previously conducted there.
So far, 110 buildings in the area have already been torn down, and demolition will continue for the remaining 525 structures connected to cybercrime and online gambling activities.
A total of 635 buildings across three zones within the Myawaddy–Mehthawthalay KK Park area are reported to have been used for online gambling, online scams, and other criminal activities.
Authorities reported that foreign nationals, primarily from neighboring countries like Thailand, had illegally entered Myanmar via border routes to engage in cybercrime and gambling operations within KK Park. These individuals are now being identified, detained, and deported in coordination with their respective countries and in accordance with legal procedures.
The demolition of buildings in each zone of KK Park continues, targeting structures that were once occupied by these groups.
It is reported that Thailand's border routes were the entry point for 90% of the foreign nationals who illegally entered Myanmar to commit online gambling and other crimes in KK Park.
Through illegal channels, Thai merchants supplied and sold necessary utilities—such as generators, Starlink devices, consumer goods, and petroleum products—to the buildings in the three KK Park zones utilized for online gambling, scams, and criminal activities.
In a recent operation on November 11, the authorities detained 53 additional foreign nationals who had illegally entered Myanmar through border routes into the Myawaddy–Mehthawthalay KK Park area. This group comprises 40 Indian, 12 Nepalese, and one South Korean national.
A total of 10,815 foreign nationals who illegally entered Myanmar were detained by authorities between January 30 and November 11, 2025. Of these, 9,536 individuals have been repatriated via formal legal and diplomatic procedures (primarily through Thailand), while 1,279 detainees are still awaiting repatriation.
The Myanmar government has stated its commitment to close cooperation with neighboring countries and international organizations in order to identify, expose, and take legal action against those involved in online scams and gambling operations. –
