20 armed terrorists robbed the state-sponsored textbooks and exercise books which were brought to send to Phaungbyin education office located in Sagaing Region on May 30, State Administration Council released an announcement.
A total of 41 synthetic fiber bags and 41 paper boxes that carry textbooks and exercise books for students for the 2022-23 Academic Year were sent to Phaungbyin Township education office located in Mawlaik District of Sagaing Region by a vessel on May 29.
The vessel was stopped by 20 armed terrorists near Yu Wa Village, Mawlaik Township at 2 pm. The terrorists robbed and took school textbooks and exercise books.
Textbooks and exercise books are distributed to the students free of charge by the state for the 2022-23 Academic Year. Terrorists took a total of 1000 dozens of exercise books (12,000 books), and Grade 11 textbooks including 2500 Moral and Civics textbooks, 1100 Physics textbooks, and 1100 Physics practical books.
Similarly, a total of 48 canvas bags out of 1597 bags that carry textbooks to be distributed free of charge to the government schools in Myeik District were incinerated by the local PDF terrorists near Thayatchaung Township on Dawei-Myeik Union Highway on May 24, the Information Ministry recently announced.
