A passenger vehicle was hit by a landmine on Monywa-Mandalay Road near Chaung-U Township of Monywa District in Sagaing Region on July 11 at an estimated 5 pm.
The vehicle carried a total of 16 passengers, of which 14 were injured, according to a local source.
There were frequent explosions on the Monywa-Mandalay Road, he added.
On July 27, three travelers who were riding a motorbike on the Monywa-Mandalay Highway were injured by bomb explosion after they accidentally stepped on the mine.
