Myanmar forms steering committee to purchase fuel from Russia

State Administration Council (SAC) established a steering committee led by Lieutenant General Nyo Saw for purchasing fuel from Russia at a reasonable price and storing and distribution.
The committee was formed on August 1 with ten members and chaired by Lt. Gen. Nyo Saw.
The committee is responsible to purchase and import fuel oil of the right quality at reasonable price from Russia; and store and distributing in the local market. The committee has been assigned by the SAC to make coordination with relevant departments and private sectors to fulfill the designated mission.
The committee shall submit the required foreign budget for the fuel import to the State.
At present, filling stations in Myanmar temporarily suspend selling as fuel is a shortage.
Current domestic fuel price is soaring within the country. Public is expecting dropping fuel prices after being imported from Russia.
