With the role of the Asia Pacific region’s moving upward in the global trend, Myanmar’s leader Senior General Min Aung Hlaing discussed to create an efficient route from Asia's mainland to Russia to promote regional cooperation.

Chairman of the State Administration Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Defense Services of Myanmar Senior General Min Aung Hlaing addressed this at the 7th Eastern Economic Forum.

“A short route, it may be a part of or connected with China’s Belt and Road Initiatives, from ASEAN region to Russia passing through South Asian countries, the gulf region and Asia mainland is essentially required at this global situation,” he said.

Myanmar locates at a strategic key geopolitical point despite weakness in the country’s internal unity.

The Army Chief said, “Myanmar locates at the key point in connecting between Southeast Asia, South Asia, East Europe, and Middle East,” seeking friendly nations’ potential investments in Myanmar at the forum.

He also urged to create friendly, trustworthy, and strategic coordination among Asia Pacific countries and Russia for moving toward a multi-polar world order.

“I believe that development of the Asian region including Myanmar will be improved if the nations in Asia including the stronger ones like China and India, and ASEAN and BIMSTEC build a better relationship with Russia,” he said.

Senior General Min Aung Hlaing also urged to practice currency replacement in the global trade trend to assist the eastern countries in awake of politically, militarily, and economically bound by the west group.
