Myanmar highlights good tie with India, says happy to be a bridge between India-Southeast Asia

Myanmar delegation mentioned its desire to endure tie with India in all sectors and reportedly said that Myanmar is glad to be a part of the ASEAN which seems as a bridge between India and Southeast Asia.

The ambassador Moe Kyaw Aung was quoted by the international media, “India and Myanmar enjoy good relations,” adding, “We are happy to be a part of ASEAN as it’s a bridge between India and Southeast Asia.”

He reportedly said this message during the round table session on Bilateral Trade Opportunities between India and Neighbouring countries that was held in New Delhi on last Monday.

The two nations have strong cultural ties. A lot has to be done pertaining to trade and investment, he said.

Myanmar, bolstering a stronger multi-sectorial relation with Russia, doesn’t fail to holding cherish its territorially connected neighbors, China and India, both of which the country has had historical ties, cultures, and traditions since their ancestral ages with centuries.

Naypyidaw Administration has repeatedly mentioned respect and intimacy to its immediate neighbours, especially India and China.

State Administration Council Spokesperson Major General Zaw Min Tun said, “We, Myanmar, always respect the honor and synergistic relations of the neighbor countries,” during the press conference held in August.

He addressed, “We respect relations with India. In fact, India and Myanmar have mutually interacted in literature, culture and religion for many centuries,” continuing that the two countries have built formal diplomatic relations after independence in 1948. It has been more than 70 years that the two nations have built a diplomatic relationship.

India and Myanmar usually defend ties in protecting security, prosperity and stability in either bilateral or regional affairs.
