EV Chargers imported from China arrive in Myanmar

Chargers for the #electric_vehicles that are imported from China have arrived at the #Myanmar_International_Terminals_Thilawa (MITT) in Yangon in recent days.

The imports were conducted under the permit approved by the Steering Committee on National Development of Electric Vehicles and Related Industries.

Five sets of EV chargers of 60 kilowatts and two sets of 200 kilowatts imported from China arrived at the MITT on February 1 and opened import declaration to conduct the customs duties on February 3.

The MITT allowed the withdrawal of the EV Chargers on February 7 after examinations were carried out as per the directives, rules, and regulations for the import.

The abovementioned EV Chargers are imported by Earth Renewable Energy Company from China to build the charging stations at No. 3 Toll Gate, 115 Mile Rest Stop and Naypyidaw Junction Rest Stop on the Yangon-Mandalay Expressway.

At present, two companies have imported 40 electric vehicles from China; some are expected to serve as taxis in Yangon and Naypyidaw, according to the State Administration Council’s statement.

A total of forty companies applied to import the EV and six of them have been permitted the import licenses.
