Ministry convenes Mekong River Sunlight Villages and related project’s discussion

Part of the #Mekong_River_Sunlight_Villages_Project for promoting solar photovoltaic technology as cooperated by the #solar_photovoltaic corporations from Shenzhen was held seminar in Naypyidaw yesterday led by the Ministry of Science and Technology for further implementations.

The solar photovoltaic project was initiated by Shenzhen Foundation for International Exchange and Cooperation (SFIEC), World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and the One Planet Foundation in 2018.

It aims is to promote solar photovoltaic technology and equipment in Mekong countries; for reducing power supply costs in rural areas of the respective country; improving the living standards of residents; and providing sustainable solutions for supplying power.

The project will be implemented by the Department of Research and Innovation under the Ministry of Science and Technology as part of the #Lancang_Mekong_Cooperation’s projects.

Director-general of the Department of Research and Innovation, professors of Inner Mongolia University of Technology in China and experts from related departments attended the seminar.
