Tun MT (NP News) – Mar 2

The Yangon Electricity Supply Corporation (YESC) announced power cut to the businesses operating in Yangon Region from 5pm to 10pm for ensuring to deliver a consistent #power_supply in the name of matriculation exam students.

The power curfew subjected to the businesses will be enforced from March 1 to 20 during the matriculation exam period. Violation against the YESC order shall be charged as per the legal actions, according to the announcement.

At present, Yangon extends one more electricity cut shift for the day time while it was formerly two shifts: 9am-1pm and 1pm-5pm. Newly added power cut schedule is from 5am to 9am.

Since late 2022, Yangon city dwellers have been divided into two groups to be delivered the electricity ration.

In fact, it has been at least 44 times of sabotages and explosions to the power towers by the #PDF_terrorists across the country as of December 2022. Again, there has been at least 217 times of exploding and sabotages to the power stations and sub-stations by the PDF terrorists and affiliated insurgents as of January 2023.

The State Administration Council government has been struggling for the power sector since 2021 as the anti-government entities made mass campaigns to refuse to pay the electricity bills by the authority of ‘Boycott Government’.

When it came to the mid of 2021, the terrorist PDFs started deliberate destructive plots damaging the State’s infrastructures especially from the public services sector involving energy and electricity towers and stations; telecom towers; schools and educational buildings; and immigration and General Administrative Department offices.
