Almost 50 new EVs arrived in Myanmar again

It is reported that 49 brand new #electric_vehicles that were imported from China have arrived in recent days.

The Ministry of Commerce released an information on March 4.

30 Dongfeng type of electric vehicles imported from Asia Pacific Automaker Corporation Co., Ltd. of China arrived and parked at Muse (105-mile) trade zone in Shan State (Northern) were allowed to withdraw under the procedures on March 3.

Government imposed tax exemption for the electric vehicle importers for the development of local electricity sector.

Similarly, 19 BYD type EVs that were imported by Earth Renewable Energy Co., Ltd. also arrived at Hteedan port on March 3 and have been allowed to withdraw under the procedure with tax exemption.

In January, first batch of imported EVs: a total of 40 vehicles arrived in Myanmar and second batch of 25 EVs arrived in February.

Therefore, estimated more than 110 EVs have arrived in Myanmar as of March 6, according to the statistics released by the Ministry of Commerce.

In addition, the first EV Charging Station has opened on March 4 and there are 10 EVs that are currently operating taxi service in Naypyidaw.
