India embassy invites competitors for painting competition with ‘Thingyan’ theme

The India Embassy in Myanmar announces an invitation to participate in the painting competition with ‘Thingyan’ theme that will be held on April 6 at Indian Embassy’s
Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre located in Yangon.

Every person can join as per the relevant competition age groups. Age groups are classified into three: Group A, B and C.

Age Group A - for the children five to eleven years old; Group B – for 12 to 16 years old; and Group C – 16 and above, according to the embassy.

“This competition is open to all as per age criteria. The paintings will be judged by panels selected by Embassy,” Ms. Lalan Desai, Dance Performer & Teacher of Culture Wing of the Indian Embassy told NP News English Edition.

The painting competition will be held as part of the Indian Council For Cultural Relations (ICCR) Foundation Day celebrations, the embassy announced.

Ms. Lalan Desai said: “This is the first painting competition organized by the embassy at India centre with the the theme ' Thingyan Festival'.”

Winners will be awarded cash prizes and certificates on the ICCR Foundation Day celebration.

The Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre, Embassy of India, Yangon regularly organizes events of cultural importance for purpose of cultural exchange between India and Myanmar.
