Myanmar-China bilateral tie potentially strengthened from Yunnan CPC Secretary visit

Myanmar Army Chief and China’s Yunnan CPC Secretary met yesterday; discussed for uplifting multi-sectorial coordination between two Myanmar and Yunnan Province; and it is deemed to be recommencing the bilateral cooperation between Myanmar and China with better acceleration.

Commander-in-Chief of the Defense Services as well as the Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC), Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, received Mr. Wang Ning, Secretary of CPC Yunnan Provincial Committee of the PRC in Naypyidaw on March 3, as per the announcement released by the SAC.

Varieties of sectors were involved in their discussion to promote.

Borderline stability and development cooperation between Myanmar and Yunnan Province were prioritized in the talk.

Other sectors involve electricity, agriculture and livestock, and industrial development were discussed.

In fact, agricultural projects in central Myanmar, especially Tatkon and Pyinmana, have been implementing as parts of the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation at currently. There are a total of 92 projects in 34 sectors in Myanmar which were funded and developed by the assistance of the LMC.

No fail to discuss for cooperation in industrial development of Myanmar, border trade and tourism in the talk by both sides. Cultural exchange and coordination in health sector were involved in their discussion, as per the SAC announcement.

Last but not least, Senior General and Mr. Wang Ning discussed for direct flight between Myanmar and Yunnan.

A Tourism Group company from Chongqing signed memorandum of understanding with a local tourism company to cooperate in promoting Myanmar tourism industry during the five-day trip of Chongqing business entrepreneurs led by Deputy District Mayor of People’s Government of Bishan District, Chongqing to Myanmar.
