90% of repair process on Mocha-hit Ponnagyun 230 KV Power Station accomplished

As per reports, nearly 90% restoration of Ponnagyun 230 KV Power Station has been accomplished. The power station was recently destroyed by extremely severe cyclonic storm Mocha.

Deputy Union Minister for Electric Power Aye Kyaw visited and inspected the progress of repairing process of the damaged power station on 21st May.

Recently hit the severe cyclonic storm Mocha destroyed the Ponnagyun 230 KV Power Station and Ann-Mrauk U-Ponnagyun 230 KV Power Grid and towers.

Due to the cyclone, 12 out of 448 erected towers from Ann-Mrauk U-Ponnagyun 230 KV were collapsed and another two were damaged in their top.

Moreover, out of the 812 concrete posts from Ponnagyun-Sittwe 66 KV power No. 1 Grid, 106 posts were collapsed.

It is reported that 90% of repairing process of the Ponnagyun 230 KV Power Station has been completed. The responsible personnel said for the speedy maintenance and rehabilitation, works are being conducted by altogether 567 engineers and technicians.
