Rosatom interested to Invest more projects in Myanmar including thermal power project

Russian State Atomic Energy Cooperation ‘Rosatom’ is interested to invest in more projects such as the thermal power project, according to the Deputy Director of the Rosatom.

The Deputy Director from Rosatom, Mr. Spasskiy Nikolay, addressed it at a meeting with Union Minister Thaung Han from Ministry of Electric Power held at Yangon Technology University.

Mr. Spasskiy Nikolay disclosed his pleased and honour to gain opportunity to cooperate in such important and essential sector as electricity generation. He said the Rosatom is also interested in thermal power projects and other related projects.

What is more, the Rosatom stated that it will provide necessary assistance to develop the wind power project that has been signed MoU between relevant departments.

Rosatom also expected to promote its role in Myanmar with many potentialities, Mr. Spasskiy Nikolay said.
Moreover, the Rosatom has already submitted the feasibility study report on thermal power plant project, that was signed MoU between the Ministry of Electric Power and Rosatom in November 2022, to the ministry.

Similarly, a memorandum of understanding in the field of Nuclear Infrastructure assessment was signed between the Ministry of Science and Technology and Rosatom.
