A small-scale industrial zone to be developed in Magway

According to the coordinating meeting to establish a small-scale industrial zone in Magway Region that was conducted on 2nd October, a small-scale industrial zone is planned to develop in Magway on a total of 382.52 acres of land.

The project is aimed to promote socioeconomic development of the region and to increase the job opportunities, said the Chief Minister of Magway Region Tint Lwin adding that local and foreign investors are welcomed to invite in the planned industrial zone.

The projected small-scale industrial zone is located four miles away from Magway Township at milepost 352, south of Magway-Taungdwingyi Road.

In addition, a proper electricity will be accessible since the 33 KV power line is located near the project area.

It is also reported that establishing the industrial zone will follow relevant laws, rules and regulations in order to prevent environmental and social negative impacts.

There will also be a jetty port for loading and unloading cargos since the Ayeyawady River situates just one mile and four furlongs from the project area.

There are a total of 19 industrial zones in Myanmar at the State level. Yenanchaung Industrial Zone and Pakkoku Industrial Zone are located in Magway Region.
