A former MP from USDP shot dead in Bago

It is reported that a former Pyithu Hluttaw representative from Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP) namely Soe Aung was shot dead on 12th October morning.

The incident happened in Bago Region, Thekon Town, according to the source close to security forces.

The victim was shot while he was going to his shop that is opened in Thekon bazaar.

“He is the chairman of USDP Thekon township. He opens a shop in Thekon bazaar. We’ve known that he was killed on the way to his shop. He was shot in neck,” the source said. He died on the way to hospital.

Soe Aung was elected as the Pyithu Hluttaw representative from the USDP in the first term of the Hluttaw in Thein Sein Administration from Bago’s Thekon constituency.

It has been at least 2,000 USDP members, supporters and partisans were killed after 2021 political transition in Myanmar.
