Heroin worth more than 1 billion kyats hidden in plastic soap cups seized in Mandalay

In Mandalay, heroin amounted to one billion kyats was seized in the plastic soap cups, according to the Anti-Narcotic Task Force.

The heroin was seized at the corner of 138th Street and 62nd Street in Pyigyitagon Township, Mandalay Region, on 10 January at 8 am.

According to the report, 44 kilograms of heroin valued to 1.1 billion kyats that were hidden in 4,400 plastic soap cups were captured when the Anti-Narcotic Task Force inspected the TOYOTA HIACE vehicle driven by Zin Min Tun at the corner of the street.

The interrogation stated that the seized heroin were planned to transport from Shan State to Mandalay Region to trade. The police also stated that the authorities are probing into the case in order to identify and seize the accomplices in the case.

On 8 January, narcotic drugs that worths five billion kyats which were carried from Shan State to Mandalay Region, from where Kachin State was the final destination of it, were also captured.
