Continued clashes in Kawkareik destroy at least 30 residential houses

The clashes are continuing in Kawkareik Township destroying at least 30 residential houses by arson, according to the residents.

The KNLA insurgents and PDF terrorists resumed the attacks to the military camp near No.7 ward located in Kawkareik Township and the clash occurred between both sides on 21 January at an estimated 3 pm.

“Yesterday, the clash happened at No.7 ward in Kawkareik. The arson set on residential houses at No.5 ward. No one knows who set the arson,” a resident told NP News.

During the incident, at least 30 residential houses in No.5 ward, were ash down in Kawkareik Township.

Previously, there was an incident that the clashes were also occurred between KNLA and PDF joint terrorist group and Tatmadaw damaging some residential houses in No.5 ward.

Since December 1, 2023, KNLA and PDF have attacked the security posts in Kawkareik Township, and the clashes have intensified.

Due to those clashes, the residents were sacrificed and the residential houses, governmental infrastructures were destroyed. In addition, the KNLA and PDF terrorists allied group demolished Kawtnwe bridge and Tawnaw bridge on Myawaddy-Kawkareik highway.
