Narcotics worth of 1 bln kyats selling to KTVs, clubs, bars in Kachin State seized in Patheingyi

The Myanmar Police Force has reported that over one billion Kyats worth of psychedelic drugs namely Happy Water those to be sold to karaoke bars, clubs, bistros and restaurants in Kachin State were seized in Patheingyi Township, Mandalay Region.

Myanmar Police Force seized the drugs at an estimated 9 am near Kyaukchaw Village located in Patheingyi Twonship on 12 February.

The police inspected an AD-Van, without passengers, traveling on the Lashio-Mandalay expressway and seized 13.47 kilogram of Happy Water which is a type of psychedelic drug.

Moreover, Pyae Phyo Aung (aka) Sai Liang who illegally trade Happy Water from Lashio to Myitkyina was seized near Tatkone ward in Myitkyina at an estimated 1 pm on 14 February.

In addition, Zarni Myo Khaing (aka) Zarni who was a colleague of Pyae Phyo Aung (aka) Sai Liang was also captured again along with 210 grams of Happy Water.

The mentioned psychedelic drugs will be transported from Shan State to Kachin State through Mandalay to sell at karaoke bars, clubs, bistros and restaurants.

As a result, 13.68 kilograms of Happy Water worth a total of 1.64 billion kyats were seized; and a case has been opened under the law on narcotics and psychotropic drugs; and the smuggling chain is on process of identification by the authorities.
