TNLA is exercising aggressions and offenses against the residents who do not favour them in Mogok Township, Mandalay Region, according to a reliable source from Mogok, told The NP News.
TNLA and its alliances initiated the battles in Mogok on 25 June and gained control of the township on 24 July, according to TNLA’s announcement.
On those days, the TNLA fabricated propaganda photos on social sites claiming that they were welcomed by the residents, according to the Information Team of the State Administration Council.
At present, Mogok residents have been living with fear within the town since the TNLA has organized a body to kill the alleged informers who they suspect informing the Tatmadaw.
“After three days they have controlled the township, they formed a group to make clearance of informers. They collected the lists of informers in every ward. They threatened in this way,” the mentioned resident who was accused as an informer explained.
In addition, some Mogok residents wrongfully informed the TNLA that there are alleged informers within the ward demanding extrajudicial killing. Most persons who are accused of being alleged informers are the Bamar ethnics.
At present, the report stated that the TNLA has the suspect list to kill accusing the alleged informers; and plans are underway to abduct the suspects.
Currently, TNLA and its allied groups are conducting inspections on displaced persons through cellphones and arrests if there are photos that oppose them or support Tatmadaw at the toll gates.
“They inspected one of my friends who deleted photos. However, they entered the recycle bins and checked. Then, they found the photos that my friend supported the USDP. Therefore, my friend bagged them on kneels to release him. Fortunately, he escaped,” a displaced person from Mogok said.
The TNLA-controlled Mogok has been shut down all trade channels and transportation routes causing food shortages and struggles for the residents to live.
