People's Party Chairman U Ko Ko Gyi mentioned that the political parties have submitted a request to the National Solidarity and Peace Negotiation Council (NSPNC) to hold a national conference on constitutional review.
He informed it during the opening ceremony of their office held in Hlegu, Yangon on 25 August. The political parties’ working group and the NSPNC met in Naypyidaw in recent days.
Regarding to the meeting held in Naypyidaw, “We proposed to hold a national conference on constitutional review in a reasonable time when the election is done and the parliament sessions are being convened. Not only political parties, it should involve armed forces as well as the think-tanks. We proposed to have an extensive conference or a national conference on constitutional review although we cannot say when it will be held. But it should be conducted in a reasonable time involving those who do not involve in this talk.”
The Chairman of the People’s Parties also added that there was no objection from the NSPNC on it.
