Ko Htait Tin Si Thu Hein from the Pyinsi Su Phayar House told NP News that some items used in the royal palace during the Yadanabon era have been preserved and collected. There are plans to display them as ancient heritage.
Ko Htait Tin Si Thu Hein has preserved around 15 items, including a swan pendant from the hair ornament of Queen Kye Me Shin, a famous wife of King Mindon.
He told NP News that the Hinthar figure dates back to the Yadanabon era, during the reign of King Mindon. It's a 130-year-old artifact from that time. There are also other preserved items, such as a golden slaked lime box.
Among the items preserved by Ko Htait Tin Si Thu Hein, there are various royal palace artifacts including a swan figure, a golden betel box, diamond bracelets, gem-studded ceremonial bowls, decorative porcelain vases, mirrors made of brass, boxes, and perfume jars made of sandalwood.
He continued that these items have been used since then, and their owners have kept them through generations. He couldn't say exactly who the owners were, but he speculated that they are from royal families. He also said that some of these items were sold by his ancestors during times of financial difficulty.
The dangling swan figure is made of gold, with its body, wings, and head adorned with diamonds. Its eyes are made of rubies, and its tail is made of sapphires. There are plans to recreate an exact replica of this piece.
“According to Ko Htait Tin Si Thu Hein, he hopes to exhibit some of the items in the future. He is currently waiting for the right opportunity. He is also collaborating with other royal families to share their preserved artifacts for educational purposes. He said that while they have plans, they are still in the planning stages.
