Khit/Cherry (NP News) - November 30
The State Administration Council (SAC) announced that it is falsely reported by the Bangladeshi media claiming that a Bangladeshi fisherman was injured in shooting fired by the Myanmar Navy near Myanmar-Bangladesh border territory while he was fishing.
The false information has been circulating by Bangladeshi media, including the Dhaka Tribune, which reported that a Bangladeshi national was injured in a gunshot wound sustained by the Myanmar Navy while a Bangladeshi fishing boat was fishing near St Martin's Island in Cox's Bazar, on the Myanmar-Bangladesh border, on November 27, the SAC released a statement.
Therefore, upon verification of the news, it was reported that on 27 November, there were no Myanmar Navy warships at the location reported by the Bangladeshi media. The onground reports that at 1:45 pm, 20 degrees 34.1 north latitude and 92 degrees 26.7 east longitude, about 5 miles southwest of Myin Lutt village, only one warship, which had returned from Sittwe after replenishing water and supplies, was stationed.
The media may be trying to undermine and disrupt the friendship between the two governments and among the people of both countries regarding incidents that can be resolved through low-level negotiations between border guards of the two countries, according to the statement.
Therefore, the statement notified that the Myanmar government is also monitoring border relations to ensure that bilateral relations are not harmed or disrupted.
