UN Myanmar announced on June 17 that only 50 percent of its funding remains available for Myanmar’s annual priorities, including humanitarian response and essential services, strengthening systems and building resilience.
Therefore, UN Myanmar acknowledged that lack of emergency and sustainable aid will impact the delivery of essential aids for vulnerable people.
It is reported that of the 1.14 US billion required for the 2025 humanitarian response in Myanmar, less than eight percent as of early May and only 16 percent of funding needed for earthquake relief has been secured.
Currently, essential aids for earthquake affected village are continuing to be delivered, as flooding occur in some areas of Myanmar.
UN Myanmar also stated that it has challenges in providing shelter and essential aids for those fleeing from Rakhine State and in delivering clean water, sanitation facilities and healthcare services for earthquake affected people in Sagaing and Mandalay. –
