Political analysts and some political party members have stated through The Statesman Journal that civil servants need to be careful even though the CRPH's civil service law cannot be practically in place.
On June 13, after the CRPH announced the enactment of the civil service law, which included provisions for taking action against non-CDM civil servants, an incident occurred in Konphaya (Nyaungpinkan) village, Nyaung-U Township, Mandalay Region, where a high school principal and her husband were dragged to the front of their staff apartment and shot dead by the PDF group because they did not support them.
Similarly, at around 9 am on June 14, in Thiri Mingalar Township, No. (1) Ward, Nyaung-U Township, the PDF group threatened the parents of students who were staying there to retake the Grade-12 matriculation exam due to devastating earthquake.
Therefore, a political analyst said that while PDF groups initially aimed to be democratic, they have now completely shifted to a path of violence.
“We have to ask them what their position is. At present, the only SAC is takng control in every sector. They can issue whatever law they want online. But it won’t have any impact on ground. But if the PDF, who are armed and are killing government employees in the area, do the same, they will be held responsible. Initially, the direction was democracy, but now it has really shifted to a violent path. The problem is just to win but if they can't win, they will do whatever without thinking whether the process is right or wrong. Now it has completely shifted to a violent path. Government employees on the ground need to be more careful. In places where the government is struggling to provide full security, you need to work very carefully,” a political analyst told The Statesman.
A political party member said that civil servants, including education workers, should be vigilant and that relevant security officials should pay more attention to security.
"I did not recognize NUG since earlier. They only issued their authority on paper. They are even criticizing each other for those statement. Their revolutionary groups do not accept what they say, and so, we do not need to say anything. Currently, there is an incident where a school principal was shot dead in Nyaung-U. Another thing is that regarding the Mandalay earthquake, the examination center was burned down, and some children who retake the exam were threatened by the PDF, and their parents called them back the next day. One thing I want to say to the head of state is that he should pay more special attention to security,” a political party member told The Statesman Journal.
