Township education office in Tamu ablaze with gasoline

Tamu township education office from Sagaing Region was ablaze with petrol on June 4 by two terrorists, according to the announcement released by the State Administration Council.
The incident took place as the third arson attack happened in Sagaing Region.
Two armed terrorists came to the education office of Tamu Township located in Sawbwarinn Ward, Sagaing Region with motorbikes pointing the pistol at the office security staff named Nay Htoo Aung; then set fire to the building with petrol and left, according to the announcement.
The burning education office was evacuated by regional security forces and fire brigades with six fire engines and a water-carrying vehicle. Two office rooms from the office of the education officer, teaching aid materials, documents, and furniture were destroyed in the fire.
Schools across the country re-opened on June 2. However, schools located in Sagaing Region including Wetlet, Kawlin, Htigyaing, Indaw, Banmauk, Pinlebu, Ye-U, Khin-U, Taze, Kanbalu, Kalay, Kani, Mingin, Pale and Myaung townships cannot be opened yet.
Authorities are investigating to find out the perpetrators and their accomplices.
