The Arakan Front Party has notified that transnational crimes could be the potential barriers to development of border trade between Bangladesh and Rakhine.

The party issued a statement after a meeting between AFP’s vice-chair Kyaw Zaw Oo and Bangladesh Consulate General Zakir Ahmed in Rakhine State on June 24.

Abduction of two Rakhine educational staff in recent days was a cross-border crime, said the AFP in the statement telling that an embarrassing incident for both Myanmar and Bangladesh’s security forces. The incident clearly indicates no restriction to ingress and egress along the borderline.
