Two state-owned factories design to produce 600 tons of urea fertilizers daily

According to the Ministry of Energy, two state-owned fertilizer plants will reportedly produce 600 tons of urea fertilizers daily starting from July 13.
No. 4, Fertilizer Factory (Myaung Ta Kar) under Myanma Petrochemical Enterprise of the Ministry of Energy will start operations on July 13 plotting to produce 300 tons of urea fertilizers on daily basis to distribute to farmers.
No. 5 Fertilizer Factory (Kan Gyi Htaung) will also start its operations on July 13 plotted to produce 300 tons of urea fertilizers on daily basis to distribute to farmers in the rainy season.
State Administration Council government imported 75,000 tons of urea fertilizers and organized relevant bodies to distribute fertilizers to farmers.
A bag of fertilizer reaches over 80,000 MMK to around 100,000 while it was twenty or thirty thousand in the previous year, increasing more than double makes hardship to the farmers.
“Last year, we had to pay 100,000 MMK for a bag of fertilizers. It’s expensive and we couldn’t effort to use it enough. That’s why paddy yields declined. Now we’ve learned that the state-own factories are going to produce fertilizers. We are glad to know that. In fact, we expect to get a cheaper price,” a farmer from Bago Region said.
