Adults to get military training by Pa-O group for its regional protection

Pa-O National Organization (PNO) announced on July 6 that adults in its region would be provided military training to join the security forces for the protection of Pa-O Special Zone 6 as well as known as Pa-O Self-Administered Zone.
The PNO’s announcement says, potential threats to the peace and tranquility of Special Zone 6, and locals’ life and property in current risky situation stand as basic reasons to conduct this reform.
Pa-O community will strive to strengthen the democratic executive mechanisms laid down by its ancestral leaders to defend the region, and adults will get basic military training as part of the formation of well-disciplined security forces, the statement said. Elimination of drug smuggling within its territory is another priority of the PNO. The group also called for people's cooperation in regional security operations in its statement for maintaining the local peace.
The statement notifies that the PNO continues its non-violent way, without deviation, in building a democratic federal union, national reconciliation, and peace-building process with a compromise together with the State government and other ethnic fraternities.
“Equality, Autonomy, and Self-determination” take as parts of the visions of the Pa-O community, the statement expresses.
in April, Major General Zaw Min Tun disclosed that ‘People’s security system’ will be formulated together with the public’s engagement with an arrangement of required equipment.
